FAQs

When do I arrive?

Sunday Start: Check in is 3:00 - 5:00 PM CST
Week Day Start: Check in is 9:00 - 9:30 AM CST

When you pull in to the parking lot, follow the arrows.

When do I pick up my camper?

Friday End: Closing Worship is at 11:00 AM
Midweek End: Closing Worship is at 7:00 PM

**You are invited to join us for the Closing Worship in the Chapel at those designated times where campers will sing a few songs that they have learned while at SBC.**

How does my camper get released at the end?

SBC must have a signed authorization for anyone other than the legal guardian/parent listed on the registration form to pick up your camper. At the end of a camp program, all campers will be checked out by their parent or guardian with a photo ID.

What happens if there is bad weather at camp?

Severe Weather

In case of severe weather each staff member is trained on the location of fire & tornado shelters. Campers, led by their leader, will go to the tornado shelter when a tornado watch or warning has been issued & will remain there until the watch or warning has been cancelled.

Hot Weather

Campers must wear sunscreen every day and re-apply every hour. In extreme heat, staff monitor campers' water intake to ensure they are hydrated.

Schedule adjustments are made to ensure campers are getting adequate shade & air conditioning during especially warm days.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes! Your child is welcome and wanted at Camp. We desire to provide your child a faith sparking experience. Many generous donors already paid for camper fees to get your kid to camp.

Discounts available:

  • 50% off

  • 25% off

  • Sibling discounts for families with multiple children attending camp

  • Active or reserve military family discount

  • Foster child code at 100% off

Contact the camp office to get your discount code.

Can my child have their cell phone?

The main purpose and joy of Bible camp is building relationships with each other and God. Cell phones do not help either of these relationships, so we don't have them while at Springbrook Bible Camp.

How can I contact my child?

There are staff on site with your children 24 hours a day. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM. You can also email, mycamper@campumm.org, and your email will be printed off and shared with your camper.

What if my child misses home, mom, dad...?

Every staff member at SBC is trained to understand, help, and respond to campers missing home.

  1. First off, this is normal and healthy. If they miss you and your home, you are doing a great job providing a safe place (you can be doing this too even if your child does not miss you).

  2. Secondly, we actively provide extra attention to children struggling at camp and we desire to help them reach the end of the week for their sake.

  3. SBC leadership will contact you to give you updates on your child if this situation does come up.

  4. Calling home is the last resort with many of our campers. This call can make many children feel more like going home, and by staying they often grow in their ability to be independent.

What food will my child eat?

Serving healthy and well-balanced meals that are kid friendly is our goal. The salad bar is always stocked with fresh fruits and vegetables. Our kitchen staff is ready to work with dietary needs and restrictions, so kids (and parents) don’t have to worry about food and just have fun.

SBC is a peanut aware environment.

Where will my child sleep?

Your child will stay in a newly constructed cottage with up to 7 other children. A cottage has housing available with a counselor for boys and for girls; we do not mix boys and girls in their cottages.

Each cottage includes:

  • Private Bathrooms

  • 2 Adult Supervisors

  • Air Conditioning

  • Bunk Beds

Who will be with my child?

Each Summer Staff member is handpicked by our Year-Round Staff to ensure an excellent & caring young adult will be leading your child. We train and operate with 2 adults around children at all times. Each of our Summer Staff have completed:

  • Interviews

  • Reference Checks

  • Background Checks

  • Two Weeks of Training

  • First Aid/CPR Training

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (for all waterfront staff)

Does my child swim with or without a lifejacket?

All people at SBC must wear a life jacket to keep them safe. And lifeguards are on duty when your child is at the beach. We have over 100 life jackets for your child to use in many sizes.
